Elizabeth Ellames, Cherrie Rowett and Lisa McAskill are the incredible women behind NOW Leadership Inc. Each of them have achieved some serious wins over the years, so let’s meet them before diving into their social enterprise.

Elizabeth is an Archetype Specialist and Creative Producer who has a passion for social change. She started her own business back in 1984 – with an extensive career in the world of personal and professional development, combined with studying Cinema and Film at Flinders University. Elizabeth has applied this comprehensive body of knowledge to become an expert in the field of archetype branding for personal, career, business, and leadership development. She helps people and businesses gain clarity about the value and culture connected to their story, their brand, and their purpose. She also create vides content that validate people, culture and community. As a co-founder and principal team member of NOW it is her pleasure and responsibility to uphold the vision and integrity of the NOW Leadership Inc. brand.

Cherie is a passionate Praxis Consultant and as an experienced occupational therapist and lecturer, brings a practical understanding of neuroscience to share. Her motto is to be Mindful and Heartfelt in life. She has a holistic view of human wellbeing – where the quest for meaning and purpose is central – growing praxis for purpose. She relishes the heartfelt vision and commitment amongst this fabulous team of progressive women – Elizabeth, and Lisa. She loves supporting people to grow their resilience and wellbeing as leaders at this time in history when that is exactly what humanity wants and needs.

Lisa delights in giving people the skills and confidence to effectively communicate their story, ideas, and visions. She’s an experienced presenter and reporter with a career spanning many years in media. She’s probably best known for her 14-year role as a reporter on Channel 9’s multi-award winning TV program Postcards and also featured on its sister program, Postcards Australia broadcast nationally on the Win Network. After countless interviews and episodes, she knows what it takes to tell a good story. In 2011 she established Lisa McAskill Presenting with a focus on the training of presenters, media training and public speaking. The business has evolved to include a production arm that includes writing, producing and directing online video content for individuals and businesses, social impact video content and TV commercials. Her role at NOW is as a facilitator and to oversee its production arm, which includes writing, producing and directing online video content for Change Makers who need a social impact video, along with creating promotional videos for people managing or developing a social enterprise.

What is your social enterprise elevator pitch?

We are a team of spirited trainers from diverse professional backgrounds who love supporting people in strengthening their leadership style.

We’re also committed to helping men and women develop a more collaborative and cooperative approach in their workplace, community or business.

We know you’re strong, creative, brave, and a powerful force most of the time. We also know that sometimes you may need a little help or inspiration to cross through those thresholds to maintain a clear focus and stay connected to your higher purpose. We also know that many people today want to make a positive difference in the world, but they don’t want to do it alone.

Which is why NOW Leadership Inc. is in the business of… keeping conversations going that ignite and unite social action.

Our world is moving toward new social structures, which involves creating new systems, new communities, and new businesses. These new systems, communities, and businesses need New Style Leaders to grow the humanity we all want. Our role at NOW is to promote collaboration, overcome unconscious bias, strengthen employment growth by encouraging social enterprise and deliver new style leadership programs and seminars.

Exposure and funding!

What’s the best piece of advice you have received so far since starting your own social enterprise?

Engage in cross-sector collaboration.

If you were to start over, is there anything you would do differently?

Not really, everything we have experienced has added to our evolution.

Where do you see the future of social enterprise in Australia?

We see it as the necessary growth for the future, providing possibilities and opportunities in the merging of local community, government, and business.

What appeals to you most about Social Change Central?

That it provides a strong platform, which gives Social Enterprise and Social Change stability and credibility?.

The Social Change Central changemaker community is growing at a fast rate. How can our members learn more about you and help support your organisation?

We ideally want to run empowerment programs that result in them creating their own social enterprise if we could receive funding for these programs to cover our costs, we could offer them at a reduced price, making them more accessible. We also run events and video campaigns – We believe being on a team and knowing your purpose is only the first step… getting your message out to your community and the world is where you create real change, new possibilities and opportunity.

We are all experiencing the world’s many crises, which are pushing us to shift to a new level of consciousness. These driving forces are now reaching a critical turning point where the new ways can replace the old, dissolving centuries of dominance, fear, aggression, and discord and turning humanity towards co-operation, renewable energy, diversity, peace, and unity. That’s why we have created NOW Leadership Inc. Campaigns.

NOW Campaigns promote unity, transparency, compassion, prosperity, and cooperation. A creative approach that takes leadership to a whole new level.

NOW Campaigns are an ongoing series of forums, events, and video that can be shared via social media – getting the NOW message out to the larger community; the World.- These are the topics of our ongoing campaignes.
