Date/Deadline: 26 Oct, 2020

In the current climate, understanding depression has never felt more urgent. And in order to truly understand, we need to step into the shoes of someone experiencing it first-hand.

That’s why Torrens University, in partnership with Beyond Blue, is launching a free, online short course that will provide vital insights into the experiences of people living with depression. Understanding Depression: Learning From Lived Experience is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) that will give insight into the day-to-day lived experiences of people with depression, and the family and friends who support them.

The four-week course is open to anyone with a personal or professional interest in understanding depression. Commencing on Monday 26 October 2020, it will be delivered by Torrens University lecturers alongside content created by people with a lived experience of depression, including representatives from Beyond Blue. It will provide an insight into the challenges that people living with depression face – from how it can be triggered, how it shapes daily life and how people have found support to ongoing management and recovery.

This course will encourage people in all walks of life to talk about mental health, engaging those with a lived experience to be in conversations and discussions about recovery.

You will receive a certificate upon completion. 26th October 2020 – 29th November 2020 Course duration: 4 weeks – minimum of 2 hours per week (8 hours total).
