The Community Grants Program provides funding opportunities throughout the year for community groups and organisations to enable them to design, implement and deliver projects, events and activities that support and enhance the lives of people in the Shoalhaven.
Grants between $300 and $5,000 are available to support collaborative efforts between community groups and organisations that are based in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area to deliver local projects that support the community.
It is Council’s priority to work with the community to foster a safe and attractive place for people to live, work, stay and play. The aim is to build inclusive connected communities with arts, culture, and events so that Shoalhaven can be an active, healthy, liveable place to thrive. Community-led projects are essential to creating this and Council are passionate about supporting innovative community programs that build social equity and address community needs.
This year the Community Grants Program has been extended with a specific focus on assisting communities to rebuild and reconnect as a result of COVID-19 isolation. Grants of up to $2000 are available for community groups and organisations to enable them to undertake projects that foster social connection. The grant aim is to fund innovative ideas to help the community to keep in touch through phone calls, online platforms and other methods of communication and connection to ensure projects can be delivered during periods of increased restrictions.
