Diverse Perspectives is a groundbreaking entrepreneurship program tailored for Indigenous and first-generation Australian founders. This initiative aims to nurture businesses that contribute to Sydney’s sustainability, connectivity, and fairness. If you’re an aspiring founder with a vision for a more equitable Sydney, this program offers the platform to make your vision a reality.
This program will support up to 12 aspiring founders – half Indigenous and half born overseas – to develop their social enterprise ideas. Six of these founders will be given the opportunity to launch their enterprise via crowdfunding campaigns, showcased at a live pitch event. Participants will receive training and coaching from social enterprise and startup experts, in-person training, introductions to experienced mentors, and technical support to create fundraising campaigns.
The training program runs from March 10-May 18, with crowdfunding campaigns launching in June. In-person masterclasses will be held on March 13, March 27, and April 10 in Sydney, and attendance is required. We have spots for 6 Indigenous founders and 6 first-generation Australian founders with ideas for businesses that address social and environmental challenges in Sydney.
Crowdfunding is a significant commitment, so think carefully before applying! You’ll receive extensive training and support, but the campaign won’t run itself – you need to be ready to commit. To get you off to a great start, you will be showcased at a live pitch event jointly hosted by StartSomeGood, First Innovators, and Catalysr, which is sure to be one of the social enterprise events of the year.
Here’s your chance to spark innovation through diversity and make a lasting impact on Sydney’s future. Interested? Apply now!
