Covid-19 Emergency Relief Vouchers support charities already providing material aid in Darebin, Moreland and Yarra with vouchers at local businesses so that families and individuals can access food and other essentials.
The Covid-19 Emergency Relief Vouchers Grant program will provide up to $1,000 in vouchers to bolster existing emergency relief activity provided by charities in the Inner North. The purpose of the vouchers is to address the increase of support required in response to Covid-19. The vouchers will look to support local participating traders and social enterprises in the inner north to respond to local people.
Existing emergency relief providers will distribute vouchers to respond local people in financial hardship through their existing processes. In the initial instance, preference will be given to charities with an existing relationship with the Foundation that already provide emergency relief. The number of vouchers available will depend on fundraising.
Applicants must be organisations that:
• Are located in the municipalities of Darebin, Moreland or Yarra or the majority of participants live in those areas.
• Are not-for-profit organisations endorsed as a Charitable Institution by the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission (ACNC), with DGR1 status.
• Are categorised by the ACNC as small or medium organisations (i.e. annual turnover less than $1M) with reporting publicly available. Large organisations may be considered if funding directly benefits vulnerable people in Darebin, Moreland or Yarra.
