The City of Victor Harbor acknowledges the many benefits of participating in sport and active recreation, including improving health, wellbeing, social and economic outcomes.
The City of Victor Harbor Sport and Recreation Grant Program provides financial support for a range of community activities and projects relating to sport and recreation. The program is specifically aimed at encouraging or increasing participation and active wellbeing or improving sport and recreation facilities.
The Council’s Sport and Recreation Grant Program was reviewed during 2022, resulting in an expansion of the program to include a specific funding stream to support sport and recreation infrastructure projects.
Funding Streams
• Major Grants – This funding stream is specifically aimed at strategic infrastructure projects initiated by community groups, clubs or organisations that encourage participation and active wellbeing, or that improve access to, or quality of, sport and recreation facilities.
Allocation: $100,000 per financial year in total will be allocated for Major Grant. Maximum amount $20,000 per Major Grant application.
• Minor Grants – This funding stream assists groups and individuals to make a positive contribution to sport and recreation development in the district.
Allocation: $10,000 per financial year in total be allocated for Minor Grants.
> Groups – maximum amount $1,000 per group application.
> Individuals – maximum amount $400 per individual application.
