The Kangaroo Island Landscape Board is pleased to offer additional financial assistance to KI landholders affected by the 2019-2020 bushfires.
Funding is available to help KI landholders replace, or establish, fencing to protect burnt or unburnt native vegetation and revegetation projects within the 2019?2020 firescar. This includes replacing fences lost in the recent floods. The funding can be provided retrospectively for fencing work that has already been completed, as well as fencing works that are underway or yet to commence.
Funds are paid upon completion and fencing must be completed by 30 November 2022.
Applications open on 16 February 2022 and close at 5 pm on 31 October 2022 or when all funds have been allocated.
KI Bushfire Recovery Fencing Grants are supported by the Kangaroo Island Landscape Board with funding provided by the Government of South Australia to the Department for Environment and Water and the Minister for Environment and Water as part of its continued efforts to empower local communities to recover from the devastating bushfires on Kangaroo Island, and the Australian Government’s Bushfire Recovery Package for Wildlife and their Habitat.
