Date/Deadline: 04 Mar, 2024

Ignite your big ideas with the Backing the Future grant from the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation (VFFF)! Designed for innovators working in rural and regional areas, this grant is a golden opportunity to secure funding for early-stage projects that have the power to transform communities and shape better futures.

Past recipients have used the grant for diverse, impactful initiatives, from empowering young people through hip-hop writing workshops to creating online platforms for accessible job opportunities in agriculture. This could be your chance to make a difference!

Successful applicants possess a deep connection to their rural and regional communities, a dedication to amplifying youth voices, and a strong motivation to bring their project to life.

Backing the Future will give ten individuals or groups of individuals $50,000 to advance an idea to support rural and regional young people aged 12-30 in Queensland. Projects should provide young people with the opportunity to:

  • Access Decent Work, or
  • Care for the Environment, or
  • Contribute to Society, or
  • Explore Christian Faith and Values.

The countdown has begun! Applications for the QLD round open on Friday 2 February 2024 and close at 9:00 AM on Monday 4 March 2024. The NSW round will open in August 2024. This is a rare opportunity for those with early-stage initiatives that might not usually qualify for philanthropic funding. Note: applications from registered charities or organisations are not accepted. For any questions regarding eligibility, the VFFF team is ready to assist.

Take the leap. Apply for the Backing the Future grant and turn your vision into reality!
