Humanitix Hits over $250,000 in Donations!
Just a few years ago, Humanitix was an idea between two friends, co-founders Adam McCurdie and Joshua Ross. Humanitix has now evolved into the fastest growing ticketing platform in Australia & New Zealand, delivering hundreds of thousands of tickets across thousands of events.Â
“We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate this very special impact milestone.” – Joshua Ross
As Social Change Central Gold Members, we’re thrilled too! Earlier this year we sat down with Joshua and Adam to find out more about Humanitix. You can check out the interview here.
“With the help of every single organiser and attendee who has used the platform, we have donated over $250,000 towards helping some of the world’s most disadvantaged children to gain an education — and we’re just getting started!” – Adam McCurdie
This impact has been delivered in the form of:
- Indigenous scholarships for rural indigenous students
- Literacy programs for young girls in the developing world
- Meals for disadvantaged students around Australia
The Google and Atlassian-backed platform is also the best value in the market for non-profits. Humanitix is now the ticketing partner for Cancer Council NSW, Vision Australia and UnLtd. Events hosted on the platform range from UnLtd’s Big Dream and UN Women’s International Women’s Day breakfasts, and conferences such as the Future Work Summit, SingularityU, and Sohn Hearts and Minds. Venues and festivals are also two strong sectors with organisers such as The Grounds of Alexandria, Sydney Collective, Inner Varnika and Soft Centre.
Globally, ticketing is a $50+ billion industry. Humanitix exists to redistribute the billions of dollars of booking fees into better use for the world, which means there’s a lot more work to do!
To date, Humanitix has been largely supported by philanthropic investment from the foundations of Google and Atlassian, plus a range of high profile Australian philanthropists.
If you know of a ticketed event in Australia or New Zealand, tell them about Humanitix. You would not just be making the world a better place, but also saving them money on booking fees!
“Together we can transform this entire industry into a force for good by making every ticket count.” – Joshua Ross
